There are definitely bobcats in town. We had one in our back yard last winter on a couple of occasions. We called the animal control officer who told us there are no bobcats in Simsbury, so we took a picture and e-mailed it to them. They confirmed it was a bobcat, and said they stand corrected.
Bobcats can be dangerous to people and pets. Don't mess with them. Call the animal control people.
As for mountain lions, I've never seen one it town, but I wouldn't doubt it.
