Last year some time Big Y had Breyers Ice Cream on sale. The register receipt indicated that the price normally would be a bit over $7 and the sale price around $5 (if I remember correctly)! Not a chance. I've always wondered if they jack up prices and then show a lesser *sale* price. I've been watchful ever since.
The response of the clerk was... well, what's the difference, it's cheaper than Stop and Shop. Hrumpf.
