SBspook: A good government is one which is accountable to the people which a town manager is not. A town manager form of government places a huge amount of power in an unelected and therefore unaccountable person. If you have a problem with Ms. Glassman (or did with Mr. Vincent) you had the power of the vote. Not so with a town manager. What confuses me is why pro-town manager folks don't push for a state manager instead of a governor. What is the difference? As far as other surrounding towns having town managers, I personally believe that Simsbury is the best town in the entire area. I therefore have no desire to emulate the form of government practiced by towns that I do not think are as well run.
