Computer Help - 2008/08/04 13:27 Does anyone know where I can get some computer help (without spending an arm & a leg) setting up a webcam?

I purchased a Longitech QuickCam 9000 at Staples over the weekend & installed it. I can see me but no one can see me. I get a black screen when trying to view other people.

I am an at-home Mom who is trying to keep in touch with a family member who is overseas in the military.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Re:Computer Help - 2008/08/15 13:07 hi Blue Eyes, did you get that camera working?
i am no computer genius, but do not mind to try to help.
since you can already see your self, it seems that maybe something is not set in the software that you are using, is it by any chance skype? where by default it would not automatically start the camera, but you would have to click that blue camera icon to allow others to see you.

Re:Computer Help - 2008/09/13 09:19 Thanks Everyone - I haven't been on a while but I found out that when I downloaded the software, my firewall wasn't letting in the whole download. Now everything seems to be working fine, I hope. I haven't been able to try it out yet b/c now my cousin is overseas.
