Re:Water Heaters - 2008/05/22 18:04
We have done considerable research. The electric service requires installation of a much more powerful service than most homes have. A new circuit would have to run to the house and then to the heater. The propane heater probably saves you more money, but has to be vented to the outside. If you can install it on an outside wall you are lucky. Our furance is propane, but is located in the center of the basement. John at Avon Plumbing has been very helpful. We drove up to Hatfield, MA where electric heaters from Germany are sold. You then have to get a plumber and a electrician. Haven't made a final decision, but are leaning to propane.
