Re: PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES ? - 2008/03/04 17:10 I sent an email on this to Mary Glassman this morning. (Right to the top!) I think it is a real concern and an important issue to know that there are some precautionary measures on this subject.. ...

Are there any in place????

Or do we all just go around trusting everyone because their from Simsbury...

She did respond back and said someone would look into this question and will get back to us...

Re: PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES ? - 2008/03/05 17:05 I'll post any reply "if" I receive one on this..or maybe someone "in the know" can come on themselves and answer the question....If not, can't say I didn't try....Everything else seems trivial after this......Later...Garden Girl.

Re: PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES ? - 2008/03/10 18:23 Sorry for the delay in getting back with any response on this. I believe I didn't carefully word my quickly written question to Mrs Glassman, and in turn to the police Chief. Besides that, I think the main title of this post threw off the actual question I was trying to get an answer to which was:
"Are there any precautions in place at events and activities for "any adult" participating together with minors in Simsbury?"
My question was not about the 15 year old boy at the High School, and I wasn't talking about already registered sex offenders.
That's the question I was trying to get an answer to..Sorry if it didn't read that way, and for any inconvenience it incurred to anyone (Like the Cptn. who must think I'm nutty!).

I'm sure there are rules Adults have to follow though....GG

Re: PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES ? - 2008/03/11 18:38 I must be the personality type who doesn't leave a job half finished.....So.....I had a very nice conversation on the "phone" (No emailing) with The Chief of Police today regarding my question about Adults in activities, etc. and precautions while participating with minors.

So....the answer....Standard.....All Adults are subject to police background checks, mainly for sports. (But not adults involved in EVERY activity or event that is put on in Simsbury though) Which really doesn't mean too much.....Right?.......
So...that leaves the rest up to the parents...To be there the best they/we can when at activities, events to make sure nothing happens. The police, or background checks can protect only so much........ GG
