SEX OFFENDER STUDENT IN SHS ? - 2008/02/28 21:15 Oh goodness. I just checked (not that I have ANYMORE free time on my hands) courant.com, under towns, under Simsbury, and scrolled down for the article on dirty dancing to be there (and it was), and also found an article on a convicted, admitted to doing, 14 year old sex offender being allowed to continue going to school....Oh please.....someone else handle that one! GG

sorry...Fifteen!

Re:SEX OFFENDER STUDENT IN SHS ? - 2008/02/29 10:56 I actually felt bad for the kid. Fox61 did a whole story on it last week and no one even knows what he did. At age 14 or 15, kids deserve a 2nd chance in my oppinion.

Re:SEX OFFENDER STUDENT IN SHS ? - 2008/03/01 15:39 We were shocked to read the story in the Courant and asked one of our kids about it. They said its common knowledge at school and that the kids in question is actually a very nice, polite kid. No one at school knows the exact charges either.

I have to say, my heart goes out to all involved.

Re:SEX OFFENDER STUDENT IN SHS ? - 2008/03/03 08:05 Too bad the article on this is pushed off the town news page under courant.com... I like referring back to the printed facts.
Remember, although I don't know this boy at all, or any of the facts, HE did admit to 1st degree sexual misconduct, or assault.
And also remember, not talking about this boy in particular, but a child molester is not going to be someone who is going to appear mean. Remember the stories we hear about "looking for the lost puppy", or an ice cream cone to cuddle the child when they are upset?
Also, a child molester does not just wake up at age 20, 30, 40, 50, etc....and say "I think I will go out and do this...usually it is something they have done before, just they never got caught. They are good at not getting caught and all that goes into learning/supporting that kind of behavior, "predator".....they prey.....quietly....
BTW..This wasn't the story about the situation using "Myspace" and the incident behind Simsbury Commons?? I think these are two separate stories.... GG

Ever think of HOW lucky we should be that maybe one may have been caught SO early...Think of how many other children in the future may have been spared.....Now this child can get some help.

Re:SEX OFFENDER STUDENT IN SHS ? - 2008/03/03 16:50 AND, I hope we do cover all bases in Simsbury. Not just the administration regarding the schools, but with all the Town of Simsbury" events, and activities ??? .......
That "NO" child should be in a situation to be left alone with an "adult", whether an in town activity, or out. Male, or Female....

Anyone know, or seen examples of these precautions taking place...??????......
