In response to their dirty dancing being taken away, the children are acting, well, childish. This makes me laugh because they want to be treated as (young) adults and taken seriously but when faced with not getting what they want, they show they are no more mature than a 2 year old. Personally, I don't care if dances are discontinued because I think that giving in to the "demand" of students to be able to dance the way they want would 1. remove any credibility the administration has left, and 2. make things worse in the end.
The teachers who refused to continue chaperoning these dances deserve a big gold star for pulling the plug. As for any embarrasment this may have caused due to news exposure, its the administration's own fault. Had they nipped it in the bud earlier, it wouldh't have gotten to this point.
