Re:Next court date Mon 1/28/08 - 2008/02/05 08:56I feel out of the loop since I must be the only one not to have read anything about the husband or seen the segment on tv, although I did see the HC article. My opinion stems from how I would feel if someone were to take/keep a pet of mine illegally. Also, why Mimi (although since you've left, you may not answer) is Garden Girl uninformed? We've read both sides in the HC article and have formed opinions. GG may have spoken to GODB as others have with the Borrino's. Does that mean those that support the Borrino's are uniformed too? Not trying to be snarky, just wondering.

Re:Next court date Mon 1/28/08 - 2008/02/05 18:27Oh, I'm not uninformed.....I'm just not spewing it, GODB's problems all over the pages. I did have a nice chat with Mary on the phone, a few times. And esp. the last time. I did learn a lot about her that I did not know before. She was very nice, and very open. I tried to help her, and listen to her, and give her some advice..... But her life is not the issue anyway, it WAS the dog, now I feel it's the def. of character case...Although, to print "stole our dog"...well in her eyes, at the time, they did! Even the dog warden, who used to be a Hartford cop believed the Borrino's should have given the dog back way in the beginning when GODB said she changed her mind (again, of record,I'm sure)...
And I don't get it...MimiS said "My heart goes out to HER".....Well if you read some of the postings from MimiS...heart goes out to her...goodness..junky yard, call the cops not the dog warden, husband in the paper...."there's so much we don't know"..Oh, IMO... WHO..... MimiS unbias...? She sure sounded like she knew enough...What was her real issue, I wonder.... the dog, Oh, maybe the barking dog, the yard, the husband..GODB....? ...No, the flag, just the flag...That's right! And Uconniac, You're not the only one who never saw the tv news, or anything about her husband in the paper..I never did either.....
Talk about snarky comments..we CAN read between the lines...."MimiS's heart does goes out to her", YEAH RIGHT!!! I would ask for a new heart! Garden Girl

I don't think bringing the children into it is way out of line at all since it is a commentary on what is to come based on these parents' disregard of the law and of others. Unfortunately, as I also commented, the Borrino's are not the only parents who act this way.
Years ago, there was a family in town who people would say the same thing about; the rules didn't apply to them. One of the daughters let her 14 year old sister drive. This girl hit someone on their way home, pushing her into oncoming traffic. Luckily, my mother was able to avoid getting killed. The sister who should have been driving immediately called her father who came and told the 14 year old to walk home before the police got there. Since it was a "she said/she said" situation, and because the father was friendly with members of the police department, nothing happened to this girl. Not even a warning!
Personally, I find this whole situation sad because it didn't need to get this far but I am not going to stop giving my opinions either just because others don't agree. I also think that the Borrino's are the ones who owe someone an apology.

Post edited by: uconniac, at: 2008/02/02 17:16
uconn you are an idiot... MONTHS ago you were bashing the burrinos children.. you said they were 'weird'...

Re:Next court date Mon 1/28/08 - 2008/02/21 14:24Say what you will ecs177. It rolls off my back but since you bring it up, anyone who knows me can tell you that I 1. do love children 2. do love animals 3. do go to church 4. have very high morals 5. am not a scumbag 6. call it as I see it
You are more than welcome to disagree with me just as I am with you. I didn't call the Borrino's (you spelled it wrong) children weird. My children were filling me in on what the scuttlebut was at their schools and I passed that on. As for my lastest comment about children getting in trouble for not following the rules as modeled by their parents, I am willing to bet that I am not the only person in Simsbury who knows children who fit this statement. Simsbury residents have a reputation for "thinking they are special", a reputation that for some is well earned and that was only supported by the attention payed to this issue. At times when I have met people and they find out where I live they are surprised because I do not fit that mold, nor do my children. I do find it interesting that you are so concerned about my supposed bashing of the Borrino children but it doesn't bother you how much you or others may bash the other family. Hmm, a little double standard there.
Personally, as I have stated, I am sorry this whole situation had to have happened and do blame the adults involved for not acting their ages. Based on posts on this topic, , it seems to have brought out the child in all of us as evidenced by the especially lovely language you've used. I cannot see an end that will make everyone happy but I wish we could talk about other topics on this forum. There have been other things happening in town, not that one would know based on the topics here.

Re: Make it all go away - 2008/02/22 22:09GODB, you seemed to have confused freedom of speech with what amounts to defamation of character.
Last summer I found a web site that reviewed local lawyers by name, and you had unleashed a tirade on Atty Borrino in which you related your version of the events and called her as a lawyer an "evil person", among other things. That sounds an awful lot to me like slander and libel. This goes beyond a "They stole my dog" sign on your car or in your yard.
Keep her kids out of it, period. Her kids had nothing to do with any of this.
