Re:Next court date Mon 1/28/08 - 2008/02/02 13:55
Okay.....I'm trying to understand this.....each person involved in this thinks they are right. The case is being heard in civil court, the only legal way to definitively decide to whom the dog legally belongs. The bringing of children into this is way out of line Uconniac. Get a grip.
The judicial system in the United States allows for pepole to file civil litigation to decide on property ownership. Being that each party involved feels they are right, who are you to rush to judgement? I am sure we do not have all the facts in this case and those facts are what decides ownership.
If everyone involved feels that they are entitled to the dog, then we will find out through a civil trial who is the legal owner of the dog. Small claims is the normal way to resolve small property disputes. Civil court is where you go for defamation suits.
Being that GODB feels that she is right, she took it upon herself to post a sign on a main throughway in Simsbury, accusing the other people of "stealing" her dog. Did I miss something? Did the other people involved put up a sign proclaiming that GODB was wrong, with her name written all over it, accusing her of reneging on a property transaction? Defamation of character is litigated only through civil court. If they feel they have a case, then they file. If GODB wins, then she can ask for attorney fees to cover your attorney costs. They will have to cover the cost if the judge feels it is right. As for their attorneys, if they win, then GODB might have to pay for their attorney fees.
And if I may ask,why was GODB's daughter in court on a school day? I looked at the judicial web site and GODB is the only party to the suit. Was this a civics lesson, is it necessary to play the pity card? Sorry, this is an adult problem and kids should not be involved or brought into this. It's gotta play havoc with their minds.
Again, just my 2 cents...and Uconniac, I think you owe some people an apology. You were way out of line.
