Re:Commend both parties - 2008/01/29 18:01Now that I am fully awake, may I add a p.s. to the reply I made this morning....
I commend both parties of this dog situation. Both parties involved for trying to see the right thing to do regarding this dog, or their children, and standing firm regardless of all the public embarrassment, etc.
And again I would love to be able to wave a magic wand and have this all go away. I wish both parties could come to a peaceful end and just move on with their lives.
And....I would like to say as I had said to someone else recently on a different matter..I can only accept responsibility for anything I have done or said wrong to have harmed ANYONE...
I wish both parties only the best! Garden Girl

Thank you - 2008/01/29 22:21On my way to work this morning I noted that the 4 piece flag has been taken down. Thank you for doing that. I lost many friends in the Viet Nam warm and the flag means a lot to me.
My posts truly had nothing to do with the Burranos. As your dog is important to you, the flag is important to me.

Re: Make it all go away - 2008/01/30 12:46Well, I tried to make it all go away. Unfortunately, it went from bad to worse. Attorney Borrino has really created a situation that is no longer just about the dog.
We went to court. This was the first time we actually went before a judge. I expected to be able to tell the facts, and have a verdict. Not so.
We were met in court not only by Attorney Borrino, but by lawyers she retained from her husband's firm, Rheiner and Rheiner. (as if 2 lawyers attacking me weren't enough, she needed 6!)
Attorney Borrino brought this to Superior Court suing me for defamation of character. This is now the focus of the case...not the dog.
We did not win temporary custody of Lexi while the case is in process, as she is not an amount of money to be held in reserve. The Borrino lawyers charged me with practicing law without a lisc. (the judge found that amusing)
The judge offered 2 options to resolve this matter. Mediation, and trial.
I said that I would like to put an end to the matter. I cannot afford lawyers. I cannot get one from legal aid. I cannot even hope to compete with Attorney Borrino and her flock of lawyers. I just wanted my day in court to asking for the return of my dog.
The judge asked if either party would settle for anything less than the dog. I turned to my daughter. (she started to cry and said I want Lexi back). I told the judge mediation would be good, as a trial would be beyond our ability.
Attorney Borrino opted for trial. She is pursuing the defamation of character suit. They set the trial date for May. They need the time to call witnesses, etc. They are also expecting a 2-day trial. Their trial lawyer introduced himself and said, "I'll see you in court". Nice of him to be so friendly and intimidating.
So, yeah. Make it all go away.I wish. They must be afraid of something, if they feel the need to have themselves as lawyers plus hire additional lawyers just to go against me in court. They are spending a lot of money just to chew me up and spit me out. I hope it is worth it. They don't need me to defame their character, they are doing a good job on their own.
Sorry, Garden Girl. I tried.
