Next court date Mon 1/28/08 - 2008/01/25 12:36Wow, I've been away from this site since we were on the NBC news. I am amazed at the continued discussion. Let me fill in some info for my own defense.
About the flag. (at first, I thought the person who slashed the sign had come back and slashed the flag.) However, upon closer inspection it has been up since this summer, and the threads gave out. It was not desecrated. It fell apart. Sorry, I've haven't had the time to take it down.
I am surprized that anyone else noticed..The flag is hanging from under the eve of the garage. If people are coming so close to my house..(practically up the driveway to see the flag)..please stop in and say, "hello". You are welcome.
About the messy yard. I shouldn't respond to mudslinging, but we painted the house and did a huge amount of landscaping this summer..under the snow, I think it looks nice. The lawn is mowed, the leaves are raked and removed, the bushes are trimmed, there are no junk cars or big piles of debris on the property...so if there is something I'm missing, please feel free to come over and pitch in. I could use the help!
As for the dog. We are going to court on Mon. 1/28/08. Garden Girl is right. It is very difficult going up against 2 experienced lawyers. I don't know what will happen. My children are not in crisis. They simply want their dog. They want me to continue and not give up. Ask them, they will tell you.
The sign needs to come down. I will get to it when I can. Hopefully, it will be replaced with a "Welcome Home Lexi" "Thank you for your support" sign. It will be followed by a "Coldwell Banker sign. It is time to downsize. I can't keep up with the Jones'. I shouldn't have to.
Thanks.

Re:Next court date Mon 1/28/08 - 2008/01/25 17:17Hi....Talk about keeping up with the Jones.... Who wants to?...people like "Axe"..can't even seem to read a clear statement/topic.....The fact that a court date never happened to get things resolved, and that there is still a post (here today)....would lead one to believe "this is seriously still an issue"..very good!
Nice post GODB! I will be thinking of you on Monday! Let me know what happens...GG

Re:Next court date Mon 1/28/08 - 2008/01/25 21:00Interesting point you brought up in a previous post, Garden Girl, about Ned, Fred, MimiS... There were no new comments since the NBC news posts until the "junky yard" comments began.
I noticed the posting dates seem to match exactly when I had the Borrinos served their court papers by the Marshall. hmmm.
Also, you are right. I should have mentioned that the last court date was a bust. Since I am not a lawyer, I didn't know that the "na" on the court calendar means "not argue", so it really isn't your day in court unless you are a lawyer and "mark it". Attorney Borrino hadn't "marked it". They were trying to claim a win by default. I appealed to the court and actually won that round.
This court date I filed for. I originally filed in small claims court. Attorney Borrino moved it to Superior Court..(for those who are new to the saga). They want to play hardball. I have no choice. You can't just tell Superior Court.."oh, sorry. We give up, now."
Thanks

Re:Next court date Mon 1/28/08 - 2008/01/25 21:12EXCELLENT that you won that round....Hey, my Grandfather was a boxer on the police force in England way back when..We all need someone in "our" corner....
I hope some kind of honest justice is done..and the Borrino's are shamed before the Courts.......Is it possible? Miracle's can happen..I know I'll be praying for one! Garden Girl!
And darn that double post problem! Just remember to click away the question/button....don't answer it!

Re:Next court date Mon 1/28/08 - 2008/01/27 10:30Well, I have not been posting, but as most who've been around awhile know, I post when I feel a response needs to be heard.
I don't know who the dog belongs too legally. I have heard both sides and with an unbiased mind set, I believe that the law will find that the other people own the dog. Verbal contracts are alive and well in Connecticut.
I won't debate the ownership issue any further. I can relay that I know several people in the direct neighborhood bordering the "signed" property and all told me that the dog was outside endlessly and they listened to it barking and whining all day long. We can argue about the dog warden being called with neighbors complaining, but I have dogs living around me barking too, and I never call the dog warden. Neighbors call each other and let them know. According to the neighbors, the calls went unanswered.
I hope this whole thing goes away and the prevailing person get's what they deserve. Based on what I have heard so far from everyone, it sounds like the dog's in a better place than it was.
Again, my 2 cents. Like it or leave it.
Jay
