Re:THORGS: LIFETIME MEMBER - 2007/09/02 12:07 Hi GG!

I've been EXTREMELY busy the last 3 weeks helping out on a movie that was being directed by Campbell Scott.

My previous co-worker has a picture of a bear on her trampoline and I found it quite funny. She lives over on Laural Ln. I had no idea that stream was big enough to have fish in it. You learn something new all the time!

How have you been? Busy is sometimes better because it takes your mind off things, but I understand it can get tiresome

Re:THORGS: LIFETIME MEMBER - 2007/09/02 21:32 Hi Thorgs!!!
Yeah, thanks to "Orchid Mom" I believe the "pool" in question may have turned out to be that pond over on Firetown rd....Are there any fish left Orchid Mom?
Keeping busy..work, garden, life! GG

Re:THORGS: LIFETIME MEMBER - 2007/09/10 23:03 Well, the student I watch in Plainville hates me working with her because she would rather be on her own. Oh well.

Anyways...the point of this post...

I've been thinking just working the rest of this school year and getting a night/weekend job to help save/pay off debt. After that I've been stuck on what to do, although I have a plan. I am thinking a couple things. Join the Air Force for 4 years and go to school to become either a PE teacher or get a BA in Business Admin (maybe with a minor in finance). I know becoming a PE teacher wouldn't allow me to come back to Simsbury but a Business degree would. I really want to move back here and raise a family (or adopt a lot of because with my luck I'll just not ever get married, haha). Although working with children is one of my greatest experiences it wouldn't allow me to really make a living or to come back to Simsbury (I seemed to have somehow pissed off all the higher ups one way or another I'm sure too).

Here's my dilemma. I'm not sure how tough it'll be to take classes while in the Service.

My other option is to take out a a lot of student loans and try to get through school while working part time somewhere (maybe on the street corner?? )

Re:THORGS: LIFETIME MEMBER - 2007/09/11 14:54 Do you know someone who's been in the service who you can get an honest response from regarding time commitments? I've never been in the military but I believe you are trained in the military for a specific job (ie mechanics, police officer, engineer, etc.) and when you are done with your service you can go to college for free. Good luck.

Re:THORGS: LIFETIME MEMBER - 2007/09/23 23:10 Well, Plainville is actually a pretty sweet school! MSP is basically a brand new building with A/C!!!!

It is rather weird hearing students talking about getting drunk and smoking pot though (yep, they're only 8th graders!!). Seems like they are more cool than I am...and I find my self pretty chill.

Anyways, I just wanted everyone to know that there was a Thorgs sighting in Simsbury today. That's right, I visited Stop & Shop! I'm rambling again. Back to the dog thread I guess....
