Buyer Beware, Supermarkets! - 2007/06/06 22:11 Just to let the buyer beware: I was in Big Y in Avon this afternoon. Keep in mind their sales go from Thursday to Thursday. I purchased some bug spray that was supposed to be on sale all week. Well, it came up the regular price. To my lack of surprise with what happened next. The manager lady came over and only corrected the price on my purchase. She did not say she was sorry, and she did not fix the price in the computer system (that I noticed at the time anyway). So, anyone who picked up that product thinking they got it on sale, did not, the whole week! That ticks me off! I told the young man that waited on me I was going to go home to Simsbury.com......Community Forum! GG

Re:Buyer Beware, Supermarkets! - 2007/06/07 00:20 It's all about Stop & Shop in Granby! I say just drink a lot of OJ, then the bugs wont...well, bug you

At least that's what I've heard...

Re:Buyer Beware, Supermarkets! - 2007/06/20 22:48 Last year some time Big Y had Breyers Ice Cream on sale. The register receipt indicated that the price normally would be a bit over $7 and the sale price around $5 (if I remember correctly)! Not a chance. I've always wondered if they jack up prices and then show a lesser *sale* price. I've been watchful ever since.

The response of the clerk was... well, what's the difference, it's cheaper than Stop and Shop. Hrumpf.
