High school kids are the same every where you go and unfortunately, for many, their behavior is indicative of how they'll be as adults. I had the best group of friends in high school. We hung out all the time, every day in the summer, had parties (boring by today's standards) and took the same AP classes. At the end of our junior year I was basically ditched by all. Why? Jealousy. Remember, junior year is when officers for clubs are named for the following year. I was named captain of this, VP of that and editor of the another. Only recently have I reconnected with my best friend from junior high and high school who was co-captain. I thought she was mad; she thought I didn't want to hang with her because I was in the "cool crowd". Boy was she surprised when she found out the truth. Btw, this wasn't in Simsbury.
