Re:Re Simsbury History - 2007/06/04 15:57 True, the only downfall was not having the greatest social life at the time.

Re:Re Simsbury History - 2007/06/04 19:39 Hi Thorgs, I'm sorry but you don't know how wrong you are! That greatest social life lasted for about as long as someone could get something from you. Like I told my Son, who graduated from SHS last year, don't bow to peer pressure like I did. I gave and gave of myself and things to get friends, to be liked, and for what? Honestly graduation day came and went, and the next day I was completely alone again. All those wasted years of trying to fit in. I should have said "screw them" and liked myself better, and gotten better grades and really learned something.
Don't sell yourself short, Thorgs! You sound like a good, decent person. We all have our childhood past's that haunt us. Leave it there, in the past and live a great life for all the today's and tomorrow's! GG

Re:Re Simsbury History - 2007/06/04 21:57 Thanks for the uplifting thoughts, GG! I just figured that if I ever make it on E! True Hollywood Story that my segmant will only be 5 minutes long because they wont have anything to talk about, haha. I guess they can talk about my street being a place where cows ate

I graduated in 2000 so your son isn't too far behind me. Most of my friends are no longer around so having friends in high school was only temporary, I suppose. Just tell him to stay in college and not be a drop out like me! He'll regret it in the long run.

Re:Re Simsbury History - 2007/06/05 08:19 Oh Thorgs, You got me on the last part with my Son. I do hope he chooses his life's path well! He is a very smart, and decent kid, and has a a heart of gold! He also has so much to give to this world to help make it a better place! He is at a crossroad in life right now, and I hope he chooses wisely!!!!!
BTW...I would think most everyone in my graduating class would be saying much the same thing: friends were artificial, you could buy them! And, that they suffered for conforming to please those fake friends, and in the process lost a good piece of themselves and all that life had to give them especially when they were in high School.
One more note: the cows didn't come to the fields, the corn was grown and taken away to the farm, etc.
Go make some history in Simsbury Thorgs, and do a great job with the path life takes you on today! GG

Re:Re Simsbury History - 2007/06/05 11:42 Well...to jump in on the non-Simsbury history part of my life - I still have lots of friends from High School. I keep in contact with quite a few, even if it is sporadic. ___________________
