A Moment of Silence - Again - 2007/04/17 16:19 Please stop for a minute in the next few days and offer a quick prayer for the souls lost on the Virginia Tech campus.

The news and the blogosphere are so head-over-heels trying to get to the "bottom of it all" that they have forgotten the victims. Hopefully the more normal of us won't (that includes all of you).

Re:A Moment of Silence - Again - 2007/04/17 19:56 The dumbest thing I heard today in reference to the VA Tech shooting is that had VA Tech not been a weapons free campus, meaning students could carry guns, this would not have happened. Bottom line, the shooter was a troubled young man and the victims were unfortunate to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. They're in my thoughts and prayers.

Re:A Moment of Silence - Again - 2007/04/17 20:07 That is the kind of thing I'm talking about - the thing you heard today. This is not the time for politics of the situation. It is time to mourn. Then we can figure out what to do next. ___________________

Re:A Moment of Silence - Again - 2007/04/17 22:08 I agree. All these "what ifs" probably make it harder for the families who lost loved ones. I'm still waiting to hear back from my "other forum" friend who lost a cousin. Definitly a sad day for everyone.

Re:A Moment of Silence - Again - 2007/04/18 08:44 Watching some of the news shows, I was so proud of the students who, in response to a reporter's question about blame, stated that there's no use in pointing fingers. If only the adults could learn from them.

Re:A Moment of Silence - Again - 2007/04/18 11:37 I agree! They want to point fingers at someone but the one they should be pointing fingers at is dead.
