Hey micpi - reform to NCLB! - 2007/03/15 07:15 Hi All,

Most of you know that I am pretty conservative and that I support Bush in most of what he has done. The biggest thing that I did not support was the No Child Left Behind fiasco. It is wrong for the federal government to impose this type of program. Schools and teachers have an awful lot to worry about with local and state mandates, let alone big-brother jumping into the fray. There has always been concern about whether standardized testing really shows whether kids are learning. Many times the results simply reflect how fast kids can answer questions - not what they know.

The Courant had this article today. It seems that people are becoming more wary of NCLB. I for one would like to see it repealed. C'mon - this is something we can all discuss.
