So are a lot of people. And, begrudgingly, I will admit that it should not take away from their season as they played well all year long.
But I will point out that in most of the playoff games over the last several years, the reason the Pats won was due to having a strong FG kicker in Vinateri. It made for very exciting games, I'll admit. The point is that Brady could never get the ball in the end zone when it was needed in the crunch. He had Vinateri to rely on. Now he doesn't (I'll also admit I wanted to see Vinateri kick the game winner for Indy). He had to score. The pressure was too much - trying to force the ball into double coverage. I sure hope that Gaffney and Troy Brown don't go free agent on him. Then he would be in real trouble.
My biggest disappointment with the Pats was Maroney (sp?). He looked so good pre-season and early on that I really thought they had something. As always my impression of the best over-all player for the Pats is Teddy Bruschi. Gotta love a team-player!
