EWL land deal--Vote YES! - 2006/11/01 10:06 It appears the main opposition is THE COST to the taxpayers based on the various posts Ive read here and elsewhere. The average tax payer ($300,000 home) will pay $400 in total in additional taxes (thats $40 over ten years). This will not hurt the towns bond rating as there is a reserve. Preserve open land in Simsbury for $400! Deal or No Deal? Even Howie would say DEAL at that price! This is a NO brainer people. Once you develop land you cant get it back.
