Hair Salon's - 2006/08/19 16:26 Does anyone know of a good hair salon in this area i.e. Simsbury, Avon, Canton, etc. that does a good job & at the same time doesn't charge an arm & a leg. Usually my daughter & I go at the same time.

We have been going to someone in West Hartford for quite a while. He is a brother of a friend. But I think that I need a change now. Last time I asked about the price because he was charging me $15 more than usual - his reply was that he forgets what he charges me & besides he wanted to let me know that he charges less for me than he does for his other customers. I am not sure if it is true or not. Since I don't work (only hubby) I probably couldn't afford his so-called regular prices.

I saw on the Internet about a place in Canton called Asylum Hair but I never heard of it before & don't know if it is good or bad. Both my daughter & I wear our hair short - my daugher's is really straight (Asian) & mine is curly especially in the back.

Thanks!

Re:Hair Salon's - 2006/08/22 09:36 Unfortunately, most places around here now charge at least one body part for a haircut. Oggi is good, but doesn't do kids. A lot of my friends like Artista on West Street. Avon Hair is good and not cheap but they do charge less for kids. Good luck.

Re:Hair Salon's - 2006/08/23 14:08 I am going to try Artista - I made an appointment for next week. My daughter wants to try Super Cuts in Avon. She only gets her ends trimmed so hopefully that will work out for her.

Thanks
